Frequently Asked Questions

When is graduation?

CNU will hold three commencement ceremonies this year on Saturday, May 20th. The start times are listed below.

  • Ceremony #1- College of Pharmacy: 9:00 AM
  • Ceremony #2- College of Health Sciences, Masters of Pharmaceutical Sciences Program, and Masters of Healthcare Administration Program: 1:30 PM
  • Ceremony #3- College of Medicine: 4:00 PM

  • Each ceremony is expected to be about one and one-half hours in length.

    Where will graduation take place?

    CNU Event Center located at 9650 West Taron Dr, Elk Grove, CA 95757

    Should I order regalia?

    Yes, if you plan to attend an in-person ceremony then you must order regalia.

    If I miss the deadline to order regalia, what should I do?

    If you missed the deadline to order regalia, please contact your college’s Office of Student Affairs for further guidance.

    Will I receive a reimbursement for purchasing regalia?

    Yes, the Business Office will reimburse graduates for the cost of regalia.

    How will I receive my regalia reimbursement?

    Reimbursements will be posted to students’ accounts and a check will be generated. Students will be contacted by the Business Office and will have the option to pick up their check in-person or receive it by mail to the address on file.

    How many tickets is each graduate allotted?

    For the College of Pharmacy and College of Medicine, each graduate will be given five guest tickets. For the College of Health Sciences and College of Graduate studies, no tickets are needed, given the smaller graduating class size. Please contact your college’s Office of Student Affairs for ticketing questions.

    Will the ceremony by live streamed?

    Yes. A link to each ceremony’s live stream will be available on the main CNU Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100078479391007

    Will there be a program for the ceremony?

    A digital program will be available for each ceremony on May 17th at this site.

    Will we have a graduating class photo?

    Yes. All class photos will be taken on Friday, May 19th in front of the main CNU building in Elk Grove. The class photo times are listed below.

  • College of Pharmacy: 7:00 AM
  • College of Medicine: 7:45 AM
  • College of Graduate Studies (MPS and MHA): 8:15 AM
  • College of Health Sciences: 8:50 AM
  • Are individual portrait sessions available?

    Yes. Graduates have the option to sign-up for a professional portrait session through Flash Foto on Friday, May 19th at the Elk Grove campus in COM classroom 163. The sign-up link will be sent out at a later date by your Office of Student Affairs.

    Will professional photographs be taken during the ceremony? Are they available for purchase?

    Yes. Photography will be captured by QR code this year. The QR code below will open the Flash Foto Photography registration page. Once you are registered, your personal gallery will be created for facial recognition and all your images taken from the ceremony and your portraits will be uploaded into your personal gallery for viewing and/or purchasing.     Are individual portrait sessions available?

    Yes. Graduates have the option to sign-up for a professional portrait session through Flash Foto on Friday, May 19th at the Elk Grove campus in COM classroom 163. The sign-up link is included below. Please contact your college’s Office of Student Affairs for portrait session questions.

    Where should graduates report to on the day of the Commencement Ceremony and at what time?

    All graduates should report to COM 1A one hour prior to the ceremony start time.

    Where is parking located for graduation?

    Parking will be available at the CNU main campus parking lot. Further details will be released soon.

    When will doors open for each ceremony?

    Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the start of each ceremony.

    Will we have a rehearsal prior to the ceremony?

    Yes, rehearsals for the College of Pharmacy, College of Medicine, Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MPS) program and Masters of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program, and College of Health Sciences will be held in the CNU Event Center on Friday, May 19th. The times for each college are provided below.

  • College of Medicine: 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM
  • College of Pharmacy: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
  • College of Health Sciences, Masters of Pharmaceutical Sciences Program, and Masters of Healthcare Administration Program: Optional rehearsal from 10:00-11:00 AM
  • How will graduation clearance be conducted?

    For the College of Pharmacy, College of Medicine, and the Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MPS) program, Graduate Clearance Day will be held in the P3 classroom (classroom 2C on the second floor of the main CNU building) on Friday, May 19th. The times for each college are provided below.

  • College of Pharmacy: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
  • College of Medicine and Masters of Pharmaceutical Sciences Program: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
  • For the College of Health Sciences and Masters of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program, Graduate Clearance Day will be held on Friday, May 12th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Rancho Cordova campus.
