California Northstate University College of Dental Medicine Announces Campus Expansion

ELK GROVE, CA – California Northstate University (CNU) is excited to announce a university extension of its College of Dental Medicine, which will be expanding to 2200 Broadway in Sacramento.

California Northstate University College of Dental Medicine has been planning for this expansive, state-of-the-art facility since 2019. The new location will allow for an 80-chair dental clinic that will provide quality dental care to the greater Sacramento Valley community. The commercial real estate investment firm, Buzz Oates, assisted CNU College of Dental Medicine in acquiring this building.

“Three years ago, we made our initial application for a Dental Medicine Program at CNU with a vision of developing a premiere dental program that is focused on service to the community,” said Dr. Kevin Keating, Dean of the California Northstate University College of Dental Medicine. “While looking for a home for the program, we evaluated at a combination of factors including transportation availability, centrality to the greater Sacramento area, and a location that could serve a variety of local needs.”

California Northstate University College of Dental Medicine looks forward to utilizing their new facility to continue to build upon their program. Their first class was admitted in January of 2022, their second cohort was admitted in July of 2022, and they are currently admitting their third cohort of students. This facility will help to provide key teachings and clinical uses for the future.

“Our university has a health science focus that is centered on the value of service to the community,” said Dr. Alvin Cheung, President and CEO of California Northstate University. “We see the Broadway corridor in Sacramento as an area that will provide a variety of housing, commercial, and service-related activities. We look forward to developing a lasting legacy of healthcare professionals through education, clinical interaction, and service to the community.”

The vision of the California Northstate University College of Dental Medicine is to provide constructive innovation in its education programs, and leadership in integrating oral health care into human health care systems. The four-year program is intended to produce dentists who are capable of performing at the highest level in an ever more complex and demanding environment of emerging technology, social change, human disease management, and evolving health systems.
