Admission Requirements

Category Admissions Criteria
High School Coursework Complete four years of high school with:
  • 4 years of English
  • 4 Years Mathematics
  • 3 Years of Laboratory Science
  • 3 Years of Social Science or Electives
  • At Least 3 Years of a Language Other than English
Advanced Coursework
  • Complete at least 5 AP or IB courses with a grade of 4 or above in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English, History, or equivalent courses.
Academic Performance
  • Minimum unweighted high school GPA of 3.9
  • Minimum SAT score of 1450 or ACT score of 32
Healthcare Experience Demonstrate a significant commitment to a career in healthcare, such as through:
  • Volunteering
  • Clinical or healthcare shadowing
  • Research
  • Other relevant healthcare experiences
Personal Statement Provide a personal statement describing your motivation for pursuing a career in medicine and demonstrating a clear understanding of the physician's role in patient care.
Letter(s) of Recommendation Required:
  • One from a STEM Teacher
  • One letter from a guidance counselor or school official
Optional:
  • One letter from a healthcare professional the applicant has worked with in a healthcare setting
Up to four letters of recommendation will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee.
Interview Candidates will be screened by the CNU Admissions Committee. Finalists will be selected to interview with the College of Medicine Admissions Committee.
Citizenship / Residency Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Conditional Acceptance Students admitted to the BS-MD Early Assurance Honors Track will be termed “conditionally accepted” to the MD program at CNU's College of Medicine.

Conditional acceptance may be revoked if a student fails to maintain the eligibility criteria during their time at CNU's College of Health Sciences.
