Admission Requirements

Category Admissions Criteria
High School Coursework

Complete four years of high school with:

  • 4 years of mathematics
  • 3 years of laboratory science
  • 3 years of social science or electives
  • At least 3 years of a language other than English
  • 4 completed Honors, AP, or IB courses in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English, or equivalent courses

Minimum unweighted high school GPA: 3.8

Transfer students: Transfer applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

SAT / ACT

Achieve a minimum score of:

  • SAT: 1400
  • ACT: 31
Healthcare Experience

Demonstrate a significant commitment to a career in healthcare, such as through:

  • Volunteering
  • Shadowing
  • Research
  • Other relevant healthcare experiences
Personal Statement Submit a personal statement describing your motivation for pursuing a career in medicine and demonstrating a clear understanding of the physician's role in healthcare.
Letters of Recommendation

Required:

  • One letter from a STEM teacher
  • One letter from a guidance counselor or school official

Optional:

  • One letter from a healthcare professional, if the student has worked in healthcare

Up to four letters of recommendation will be accepted.

CNU Application Students must complete the CNU application and pay the application fee by the application deadline.
Citizenship / Residency Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Interview Candidates will be screened by the CNU Admissions Committee. Finalists will be selected to interview with the College of Medicine Admissions Committee.
Conditional Acceptance

Students admitted to the BS-MD Early Assurance Honors Track will be termed “conditionally accepted” to the MD program at CNU's College of Medicine.

Conditional acceptance may be revoked if a student fails to maintain the eligibility criteria during their time at CNU's College of Health Sciences.
